What types of taillight bulbs are there?There are several different varieties of Dodge D150 taillights available; the following are three of the more common.
- Halogen: These bulbs use a tried-and-true design that is similar to the incandescent house lights that many people are familiar with. However, halogen taillights have one major difference from the incandescents in your house. They swap out the gas inside for one of the halogens. The way that these lights are able to create such outstanding light output is because of their lack of a filament. Instead, there is a short gap over which the electricity is able to jump from one electrode to another. When the current jumps, it does so through xenon, which becomes highly energized. The highly energized gas particles respond to this by emitting the bright light.
- LED: LED taillights have a number of features, including excellent energy efficiency and small size for the amount of illumination that is provided. These factors make LED taillights an interesting choice for vehicle manufacturers, as they are able to be creative in the way that they design the lights.
Replacing the taillights on your Dodge D150 pickup truck is a simple job. All you need are some simple hand tools and a little bit of understanding. Make sure that all proper safety procedures are followed completely. To replace the taillights in your D150, you just need to remove any bolts or fasteners that hold the assembly that contains them in place, remove the old lights, and install the new ones.
