Are there HID bulbs available for the Escape?HID lamps provide up to two times more illumination than standard halogen bulbs. If your headlamp assembly is in good working order, you may purchase HID bulbs to replace older halogen bulbs. Not all Escape models and years original assemblies will accommodate HID lamps without modification. What are NSF-certified headlights?The NSF was founded as the National Sanitation Foundation in 1944 and evaluates and certifies parts, processes, and standards in a variety of industries around the world. The NSF certifies aftermarket automobile parts for safety and quality standards as compared to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts that are authorized by Ford for the Escape and other vehicles. NSF-certified headlamps have been tested by the organization and are certified to perform at the same standards as the OEM parts in a Ford, including the Escape.
What is the difference between Ford Escape headlamps and assemblies?Headlamps alone are lamps that are replaced within the assembly of the Ford Escape SUV. Some Fords such as the Ford Escape S and Ford Escape SE may have headlamps replaced by different models, including LED, HID, and standard halogen lights. Headlight assemblies are the entire part for the passenger side and driver side headlights and will include glass, housing, connecters, and potentially bulbs.
What are LED conversion kits for the Escape?All years of the vehicle starting in 2001 and including the Ford Escape Titanium can use LED headlights with a conversion kit that will adapt the bulb housing from the standard halogen bulb to the LED bulb. Kits come in pairs that are model-year specific and which may also allow you to change headlight colors on the vehicle.
